In keeping with the spirit of Tradition Four, speaking for ourselves only and not any other member of the AA fellowship, any other AA group or AA as a whole and under the authority of God as He expresses Himself in our group conscience we believe that Bill’s Friend is Jesus Christ. We believe that He is not only the source of all the principles expressed in the primary text of our fellowship (see Arch Builder’s Pamphlet) , He is also “the One who has all power” that we turn our will and life over to in step three.
Although human sponsors are very important elements to our fellowship, Jesus Christ as our Spiritual Sponsor provides both guidance through the Word of God as expressed in the Bible as the foundation of our fellowship (see AA Co-Founders Pamphlet p13&14), and the power that we lack and desperately need to recover from addiction to alcohol and to practice Christ’s principles “in all our affairs”.
This section is dedicated specifically to the words and instructions of Jesus Christ, applied to our great recovery fellowship. You are invited to submit “red letter” scripture quotes for inclusion in this section if The Spirit reveals such scripture to you and you are willing to share them with others. Please go to our quote submission page to submit quotes for consideration.
